When I saw the Blakes play an instore show at Luna music midtown last year, I specifically remember gathering all my powers of creative visualization, picturing them playing an extended set at Radio Radio. Well, I don't know if karma or good vibes had anything to do with it, but the Blakes are playing Radio Radio on April 18th (most likely there were no new age elements at play here but if you would like to add to the Blakes rock and roll aura, chant a "Tufty" mantra and buy their self-titled record released by Light in the Attic records. These guys sound like a confluence of The Troggs, The Stooges and The Easybeats. They are on their way back to the states after a tour of Europe, so I'm guessing they are going to have some new songs inspired by French groupies.
