That's right, Liz Phair is now a book critic. Check out her review of Dean Wareham's new autobiography "Black Postcards: A Rock and Roll Romance". Wareham, of Luna and Galaxie 500 fame is now an author. Check out Phair's review of his book here www.nytimes.com/2008/04/06/books/review/Phair-t.html?ref=books Does her review make you want to read his autobiography? Should Phair stick to making music?
I suppose that she's free to do whatever she pleases. While she's no Michiko Kakutani, I think I'd rather read her review (which was pretty good) than listen to her later cds.
But want to read the autobiography? Not particularly. Wallowing in anyone's wasteful, druggy, and self-important rock almost-star past doesn't particularly interest me. But Luna and Galaxie 500 were never favored bands for me. If they had been, I'm sure that my interest would be greater.
