Buffets are great, aren't they? Inexpensive, attractive to what my mom would call "healthy eaters" who aren't overly worried about cross-contamination, and an excellent way to try out new foods.

Me? I have an Indian buffet problem. When I eat out for lunch, my go-to places include Udupi, India Garden (both locations), or any of the many other Indian restaurants. And I still miss the now-shuttered downtown Thai buffet with its warm tapioca pudding and wide noodles.

What about you? Do you have a favored buffet location or two that you think more folks should know about? Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, all recommendations are necessary!

(Ronlewhorn has mentioned this topic before, with a brilliant idea for renaming Golden Corral the Obese Feast.)

I actually like the Golden Corral and those other places like Ryans, etc. If you choose the right options, you can eat healthy at buffets like that, but most people don't seem to. I'm a big fan of Indian Garden as well. It's probably not really considered a buffet, but the salad bar at what used to be "Wild Oats" included so much more than just salad. I love their options.

I haven't been there yet, but I hear The Journey (96th Street) is pretty damn good...all you can eat Prime Rib. But pretty pricey, from what I understand.

And quasi buffet-ish is the BD's Mongolian Grill...I love that place. Super good eating.
