It started with the RadioNow debacle. Then Jon's "what's regular radio, I have XM" comment made me think. And after spending a long weekend in LA flipping through the dial, searching for something, ANYTHING, to entertain me, I began wondering . . . is radio for the lower class? Has regular radio gone the way network television has gone with the introduction of cable and satellite? It sure seems that's the way it's going. Since the last time I was home, the number of Spanish-language stations in LA has at least tripled. And with Internet radio, iPods and satellite radio (and most recently HD Radio), I'm beginning to think that my tuner might be completely obsolete.

I'm lost. Who's Jon, and when did he say that?
