Most home cooks and vegetable-lovers probably know that this time of year is the ideal time for asparagus eating. But it never hurts to have a reminder...
So, I'm suggesting that you go buy some tender green stalks from the store, snap the tough ends off, and feast on this star of the season. Some ideas for cooking? Toss lightly with olive oil and roast those babies at 350 until they're delicious - about 15 minutes. Add them to a spring-time risotto. Or make a beautiful green soup, flan, or frittata with them.

I'm an asparagus backer from way back.
I LOVE asparagus - in fact I used to have an asparagus patch at my old house. It's easy to start but you can't pick it til the second year, so its kind of exasperating waiting for it. I just had some last week at O'Charleys - they offer it as a side for an additional $1.49. Yum!
I just saw that the Noodles and Co. place has a special asparagus-based dish: Linguine and Asparagus. I think that I'd prefer to add it to an Asian-esque dish there.

When I was a kid, my mom had me dig grave-like trenches to start an asparagus patch. But the effort paid off in that second year.
:( Asparagus, ill eat it, but it has to have herbs or be cooked in a sauce, the plant by itself it just too bland.
