Now that we finally have nice weather it's time for me to start exploring the Indy area for the best outdoor sites. I lived in Wisconsin for several years, so Indiana "parks" seem a little pale in comparison. I really enjoy going to the Brown County area though, and visiting the Nashville arts community. And just sitting downtown by the canal is really enjoyable too. I've had some people recommend camping at Clifty Falls, but that's quite a drive. What are some good parks or outdoor sites in the Indy area, or at least within a few hour driving distance? Where are the best trails? I'm a big outdoor climber too, are there possibly any outdoor climbing spots in Indiana? I'm really doubting it, but thought I would check.
I like to stay indoors as much as possible, because that's where the whiskey and ice cubes are. But I did go to Eagle Creek over the weekend. They have plenty of trails and lots and lots of deer. Nothing to climb though. This is central Indiana. Flat, flat, flat. Anyway, here's the Eagle Creek site:

Er...um...ah...I think Dick's Sporting Goods in Castleton Square still has that wall inside. Not much as far as scenery, but you can live our your American Gladiators fantasies all you want. Well, within reason anyway.
I'd suggest checking out Crown Hill cemetery. Take a look at the post I put up earlier this morning. Although I still haven't been able to add the pics to it, it'll still give you an idea of what you can experience there.
