I met myself in a mirror. Tho I was so nervous that I start acting all stalker-ish, and I think I wierded myself out. But I'm still a fan.

I met Leslie Nielsen at a conference of some sort (ok ... Nerd games) when I was younger ... dude's hair really is that white (or at least it was 15 years ago).

I interviewed Dick the Bruiser (aka Dick Afflis) once after a wrestling match at the Delaware County fairgrounds. He was very nice. Softspoken. Wolfgang Puck was great to interview. He was making pizza, which of course was delicious. He seemed pleased to be asked about his kids (three boys) and about cooking for them and what they liked.

Working for the TV & Media department at NYU gave me an opportunity to meet some famous people ... the most notable of which were Al Gore (I was his personal tech guy for a one day conference) and Ex-Pres. Bill Clinton (I have a photo I'll add to my profile later today).

I've also met Dave Letterman, Paul Shafer, and Jim Davis (Garfield creator).

I worked in Malibu. I met a lot. Or, more like, I waited on a lot of celebs and big wigs. They're just normal people (well, Gary Busey isn't, but most of them are), so I'm not real star struck. Although, I'm not gonna lie, I love seeing famous people do normal things: Rage Against the Machine guys ordering red wine (I totally expected beer or hard liquor), Tom Hanks running outside to get an autograph with his son for Flea . . . .

I was able to get to meet U2's Bono here at my day job a few years back.It was just as cool as when I met David Crosby up in Broad Ripple.

I met Faith Hill when she was in for the first Colts game. Didn't have much time to talk with her, but I did get my pic taken. It's posted on my gallery. :)

I interviewed Dakota Fanning when she was here for Heartland a couple years ago. You haven't been humbled until you tell an 11-year-old you're a fan of hers.

Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, ZZ Top (all of 'em), Isabella Rossellini and lots more when I lived in NY. I went to Joey Ramone's birthday parties ... Debbie Harry, for that matter. But usually those meetings are so ... I dunno. They're famous, I'm not. It's a moment in time, and then it's over.

I had pizza with Radiohead at the Fashion Mall Food Court back in the 90s. They were in town opening for REM, I think it was around the time that The Bends was being released. I was in line at Sbarros and these dudes were having trouble figuring out the American currency. Anyhow, I helped one of them sort through the gigantic wad of tens and twenties that he had pulled from his jacket. After I sat down with my wife, they sat next to us and we had a good conversation and ate pizza. Really interesting guys - although Thom Yorke said virtually nothing. Man, he's a tiny dude. Definitely the weirdest day of my life. Pizza with Radiohead at the Fashion Mall. See? It even SOUNDS weird.

A few, nobody that special. Probably the coolest among them isn't even all that famous: "Fast Food Nation author Eric Schlosser. Talk about a smart dude.

I got to meet Regina Spektor (see my avatar) when she came to town earlier this month. She is so tiny and adorable....I could just eat her up. I also recently got to meet Sarah Watkins from Nickel Creek. I hung out with the girls from the Ditty Bops after a show one night and they fed me candy corn. Really cool girls.

I've also met Al Lewis, better known as "Grandpa" from the Munsters. He was running for governor of New York at the time. And last but not least, (well...probably least too) I was on the Cowboy Bob show twice. Does anyone even remember Cowboy Bob?

I peed in the same O'Hare airport bathroom with Phil Donahue. I was about 12 years old I think. I also stalked Beck for an autograph after a show in '96.

Other than that, just a few people who have come to our studio: Aqualung, Josh Rouse, Nada Surf, and a few others.

Although I never met him, we did talk on the phone a few times and I was CONVINCED that Dweezil Zappa was going to drive his limo to my little po-dunk hometown, pick me up from high school and take me back to California where we'd live a lifestyle of the rich and famous! grin

Anyone know who Dweezil Zappa is?

Ahh yes, the offspring of Frank. And sister Moon Unit. You talked to Dweezil on the phone? Too cool!

Oprah Winfrey & Don Ho. I saw Hugh Hefner and the girls next door at Disney...but didn't technically "meet" them. Ohhhh...I guess I DID meet Mickey while at Disney, too.

Oh, yeah...Oprah Winfrey, how could I forget?? I have a picture of us together...we held hands...okay, so she only TOUCHED my hand...I'm certain we connected! It's too bad that was such a bad hair day that even the fact that Oprah's in it doesn't encourage me to display it!!

I met Ted Nugent. I don't agree with anything he says, but it was still awesome.

I also met Stephen J. Cannell, creator of "The A-Team," "Riptide," "Wise Guy," and a bunch of other great '80s shows, in a bookstore. I told him I'd just finished my M.A. in screenwriting and he talked about screenwriting for 25 minutes straight. I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I learned more in 25 minutes with him than in a year of film school.

At the end of the conversation, Cannell said, "Hey, if you're ever out in L.A.--" and then he stopped himself. "Good luck to you, and keep this stuff in mind."

I love telling that story.

On a family trip to California years ago, we were invited (mom was friends with his wife) to stop by and visit Dick Van Dyke and his wife at their home in Encino. I remember him being a friendly guy but his kids wouldn't have anything to do with us. We had to watch them have a great time swimming in the back yard while we sat on the couch. It would have been cool if he would have tripped over the footstool but it didn't happen.

My boyfriend used to be roommates with Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under and Dexter) in New York before he became famous. They're still friends and he came to town last spring to visit with the old third roommate and best friend. One night we all ended up at this little testosterone and whiskey fueled country bar on the southwest side. It was kind of surreal sitting there with a guy who played a gay mortician on TV.

About 5 or so years ago, I was walking around Abercrombie in the Fashion Mall while on a lunch break and I went to go stand in line to buy something, and a man walked by and accidentally stepped on my foot. The guy said, "Oh, I'm so sorry about that, miss!" and I looked up to see ALICE COOPER. I said, "It's ok....Alice Cooper...." and then he winked at me. He ended up buying all of his kids clothes from there- I think he was on tour for some festival since it was the summer. This was before his radio show- and he was wearing a golfing shirt. He's also pretty short- but as you can see, a very polite guy!

Just kind of a regular guy. Friendly, intelligent, but a little reserved. He seemed content to just take in the scenery, a lot of which included my boyfriend's sister. So, not like too much like David Fisher. ;)

OK, here's my real list. Thought about it over lunch. These only include people met in the flesh up close and personal, not talked to on the phone or just saw on a stage or game field.

Haley Joel Osment, David Benioff (Troy/Kite Runner screenwriter), David Ogden Stiers, Tia Carrere, Kevin McDonald, Jason Scott Lee, Shaquille O'Neal (mistook him for a curtain -- long story), Wynonna Judd, Roy Disney, Aaron Tippin, Newt Gingrich (he crushed my hat), Jesse Jackson, Charles Barkley, Paul Simon (the senator, not the singer), Jeb Bush, Gary Coleman, Pat Buchanan, William Goldman (screenwriter), Roy Scheider, Phil Collins, Phil Gramm, Rob Zombie, Kathy Griffin, Penny Hardaway (back in his Lil' Penny prime), Chad Brock, Jeremy Sisto, all the "Blair Witch Project" filmmakers.

As a general rule, politicians are taller than you'd thought, and entertainers are shorter than you'd thought.

I once had lunch with A.J. Guyton and Luke Jimenez (two former IU players-AJ went on to play with the Lakers for a spell). A friend of mine was a manager on the team and hung out with them all the time.

He also told me about the Neil Reed choking incident the day it happened, which I promptly forgot until about a month after everything came out.

This is fun! I made trips to New York in June 2004 and 2005. My first celebrity encounter was when I was walking up Broadway toward David Letterman's Late Show studio, waiting for the WALK light, and standing right beside me, talking on her cell phone, was actress Elizabeth Berkeley. A couple of days later I was checking out the entrance to Central Park off Columbus Circle, and ran into Tony Danza with a crew, shooting some video for his talk show. I waved and said, "Hi, Tony, Good to see you." He said, "Good to see you too, sir." Kind of funny. The next year, I saw singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb on the street outside Danny's piano bar on W. 43rd, and later passed NYPD Blue actor Gordon Clapp (the stammering redheaded guy) on 8th Avenue.

All four were pretty much D-List, but still. Then there was Ian Ziering with a tall blonde model outside Blu on S. Meridian this summer. More D-List. With any luck, maybe I'll make E or F-List myself one of these days.

I had to hang out with Matt Pinfield once... Luckily he bought my beer. He is a very annoying man, but his knowledge of heavy music is unmatched!

This is pushing the bounds of "celebrity," but IUPUI basketball coach Ron Hunter was coming out of a screening I did earlier this year, and I was standing there waiting for the INtake panelists as he walked by. I said "Hi, Coach." and he said "How's it goin'?" as he walked by. The guy with him said "Who was that?" and Coach Hunter said "That's the guy who does the movie reviews."

I just thought it was pretty cool that he knew who I was.

I met Salman Rushdie once at Butler for the writers speaker series. And he signed my copy of Fury.

And I met Diane (said like Dee-ahn, 'cause she's snooty) Willis and Clyde Lee once a couple years ago. They're probably not even D-List. Is there an E-List? If there is, they'd be at the bottom. Diane wears a lot of makeup and smiles like a beauty pageant contestant. Clyde didn't say much.

Oh, I almost forgot, one Saturday at the end of Sept. I met Clinton Kelly, the guy from that style show, What Not to Wear. He was at Macy's in Castleton for a fashion show to promote his new book. I wasn't excited, I don't watch much t.v. and don't have much use for style tips. I was there with Jenny so I got to sit in the press people row and go into the executive office after the show to shake his hand and pretend that I cared about who he was. I don't think I did a very good job.

Met Tom Seaver in an Oyster Bar back in 1975. He pitched a losing effort against the Astros and was a nice mild mannered guy to all the patrons. Like any kid 14, I had a glove and baseball in the trunk of the car. i got his signature and was so excited, I didn't even notice his friend was Jerry Koosman. Gaff. Turns out they ended up #6 and #28 on the current all-time strikeouts list, respectfully.

Couple other chef-types I met: chatted with Sara Moulton before a demo she did at Castleton Square and stood around in the parking lot of the Triple X Drive-in, an old-fashioned rootbeer stand in West Lafayette, in the cold talking to Food Network show host Guy Fieri. One of the more interesting chef-types to talk to was Ted Allen of Queer Eye -- but it was only on the phone, so it doesn't really count!

Never actually met him, but when I was 5 yrs old we rented Dick the Bruiser's beachhouse in St. Pete, FL. :P The only other brush I can think of (besides some local athletic celebs) was having my picture taken with Luke Perry in 8th grade (still have it at home). I Met Marvin Johnson while filming a Pre-Roll video ad (Dwight Freeney was there too).

I Met Gene Simmons at last years 500 Festival Parade Snakepit Ball, I met William Fitchner and Pat Obrien at that too.

I met Herman Boone the coach from Remember the Titans before he gave one of his speeches.

I met Johnny Unitis (sp?) when I was really little.....have a signed football and a picture to prove it.

I met Tiger Woods when I used to work at a Golf Course in Illinois.

I Played golf with Martin Jische (Purdue's old President) We had a group of three and invited who we thought was a random guy to play with us instead of wait.....when he took off the hat and sunglasses we were shocked.

I may have one or two more, but they seem to be escaping me at the moment...

I insulted a Canadian rock star in Toronto on my Honeymoon. We were at Onterio Place and I was buying a T-shirt, the guy behind the counter said,"why don't you by a Gowain T-shirt" I looked disgusted and said, "who's that?" I didn't realize I was standing right next to Gowain, the Canadian rock star. Oooops.

I met Gene Simons of Kiss back in the 80's. I also met Fr. Theodore Hesburg. Not at the same event, ha ha

I just realized that I forgot one, though he's not someone you'd recognize on the street. I met David Prowse, who was...Darth Vader. He was the guy in the suit (at least most of the time) in the first three Star Wars films. I met him on the set of a local film called "Open Mic'rs" (which I documented photographically in INtake as well). He also trained Christopher Reeve for "Superman," so that makes him intimately connected with two film icons. He was a large man. Nice guy too, and had a lot of interesting stories about "Star Wars."

While playing some shows in Hollywood with my former band, Pop Lolita, I met Chloe Sevigny at the hotel we were staying at. She invited myself and the bass player in her room for a whiskey drink and told us she was filming an indie movie with Vincent Gallo. Turns out this movie was the infamous "Brown Bunny" where she goes XXX with Vincent. He was an a------ and wanted nothing to do with us and gave us hard stares. Chloe was cool and down to earth.

I met Julia Carson. I was working as a security guard at the Hilbert Circle Theater ( ISO), and she was waiting in the hall for her ride.) She actually was the one looking straight into my eyes and asked me , "So How long will you be working tonight?", I couldn't believe that she actually approached me. For me ,it was a way to show sympathy towards me, as tired I must have looked like, and it was almost 11 P.M at night.
