Are you Racing for the Cure at the Susan G. Komen event on April 19th? Supporting someone who is?
Come out and cheer the walkers and runners on. Saturday morning, downtown. Can't miss it!
I'm working to get last minute donations. Any tips for approaching a community I am new to and have little network to draw a ton of financial support from.
Hope to see you there and support the cause whenever you can!
Did you reach your $50 goal?
Not yet. I have $10. If I don't make it by the race I'll pitch it in but I'm hesitant to approach coworkers (very small office) or relatives (planning a wedding.) See any reason why I should? Still planning to send handwritten note to close friends this weekend. We'll see how that proceeds...
I've posted at the Komen web site and sent links to friends to that page. They can donate directly that way - which makes it easier to reach your goal. I haven't reached mine yet but I plan to be there that day walking!
It's about spreading the word AND raising the funds. Anything helps. Goals are set to keep you working. If we set $5 goals, we wouldn't be saying much about our commitment to the cause. Hope to see you there and enjoy the good weather as you prepare!
A couple heartfelt emails later, I blew past my $50 goal and hit the bell at $95. Rain or shine, I'm excited to walk tomorrow morning.
Now, how about that $1,800 goal?! $50 down, $1750 to go!
