I came across the following web page, which argues why a list of 7 shows from our past need DVDs and provides YouTube clips of the shows:
7 TV Shows That Desperately Need DVDs
It's a good list.
I'm a big fan of nearly all the comedians in The Comedians of Comedy.
I would stay up extra late, or at least it seemed that way then, to catch Liquid Television.
I remember being upset when Crossballs was cancelled after just a month. Apparently one of the guests threatened to sue Comedy Central.
I'm a fan of lots of sketch comedy shows, and The State was definitely one of them.
I'm not all that familiar with the other shows listed, though as a fan of Deltron 3030, this episode of Get a Life! certainly sounds familiar.
So, what are some other shows that you feel need to be brought to DVD?
One that comes to mind is the comic-based cartoon The Maxx, which was on MTV. It's been on VHS, but hasn't yet been put on DVD.
Obviously The Wonder Years but we know the hold up with that.
I would love for ThirtySomething to be released on DVD. Also, what about the third and final season of Once and Again, along with the entire Everwood series? These are well-written dramas --- something that's largely missing from today's television landscape.
Oh how hilarious was The State? Sometimes when I'm watching Reno 911, I start thinking of sketches from that show. There are a few that have been put on YouTube, but the quality is crap.
BATMAN (60's)
Herman's Head
TV Funhouse (which is FINALLY going to get a DVD release this spring)
Cartoon Planet when Space Ghost showed classic cartoons and had Brak on there singing and even had a live action Space Ghost, though his physique wasn't flattering.
Friday's - Michael Richards the jerk that he is was the only one who had in his contract the rights to vhs/dvd releases and he hasn't signed off on it.
Max Headroom and You Can't Do That On Television. Please.
