Today:
Just wondering if anyone's planning on seeing Chapter 27 at any point? There's been a bit more jibber-jabber about the movie in the press of late.
Do you think it was wrong to make a movie that put Mark David Chapman at the center of the action? In case you don't have immediate recall on the name, Chapman was John Lennon's killer. My husband's all riled up about absolutely not seeing it, NEVER, but I'm non-committal about the whole topic.
It depends on how they handle the situation. I personally like films when they challenge us a little bit by making a a killer the film's main character. Not only does it flip the action around a little bit, but it helps us (in true-crime situations like this) see the motivations for someone who has been painted as a monster. It's both reassuring and even scarier to see that people like that aren't monsters, but they're just people with severe problems who weren't helped.
Then again, this could be a total disaster, especially seeing Lindsay Lohan's name plastered above the title on the poster.

La-Lo does make things seem not-so-great.
I'm with you, though, I like movies that challenge viewers and explore what it means to be human in all its forms, good and bad.

Yes...remember Charlize Theron in Monster? That's an outstanding movie.
