Page A8 of today's Indianapolis Star boasts a full page ad promoting the appearance of Kathy Griffin on August 23rd. I urge everyone to read the comments made by Kathey at the Emmy Awards ~ http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/griffin.asp. I firmly believe that her visit at the Murat Theatre should be cancelled. Come on, fellow Hoosiers!! Rally and show Kathy Griffin that our voices will be heard and remembered much longer than her infamous Emmy speach she is so insidiously proud of!!

I ABSOLUTELY agree with Irish Mom- I understand this nation has a wonderful constitution and we are all granted free speech but why do people insist of spreading such negativity and slander!! Like I teach my kids...if you can't say anything nice - don't say anything at all!! I'm sorry for her- not all things can be called humor.

Perhaps we need to saturate Murat Theatre with calls stating our dissappointment in their choice of booking Kathy Griffen. I asked that they cancel her upcoming show and also not to ever book her in the future.

Here is the Murat's number...317.231.0000. Debbie Henessey ext.207
Andrew Newport ext.225
Come on Hoosiers- let them hear from us!!

I wonder if this has anything to do with her infamous "Jerry Seinfeld is the devil" show. Maybe she's making a political statement of some kind.

Get a grip! Don't go if it offends you. That is the beautiful thing about this country. Along with free speech, nobody has the right to force you to attend an event that is not to your liking. I think you should continue focusing your energy on instilling values at home and hoping that your kids grow up to be mature adults who can distinguish the difference between comedy and slander.

P.S. In writing this comment you actually contradicted yourself by saying something "not nice" about someone and spreading it around in a public forum.

Puh-leeeze, people! Kathy Griffin a treat? You've got to be kidding. You must all live in Carmel or something. The only danger of a Kathy Griffin show is laughing your guts out. She's the bomb!

I couldn't agree more Eastcoastmom! That's one of the joys of this world. There are options for everyone. If you don't like something, don't watch it, listen to it, etc. Nobody is forcing you to go, so why should you be trying to convince others not to go?

I can't say that I agree with everything she says, but some things she says just crack me up!

I've forgiven her for that comment. And I can't wait to have her back in Indy. She's a riot! Can't wait, Kathy. Welcome back to Indy where your fans love you.

Irish Mom needs to get a life; she must have too much time on her hands in Carmel/Geist.
Maybe she needs needs to have a day at the Escape Day Spa to relieve her tension, stress and bitterness about kathy griffin or a day of shopping @ Yaprak's, perhaps? Why is she worrying about Kathy anyway--I can't imagine that Mrs. Irish Mom would dare venture out of her guilded McMansion to slum in Indy. You should stick with HGTV, sister woman!

Thanks to NoblesvilleM3's posting with the Murat's contact information, I am going to call and thank them for hosting Kathy. I attended her last 3 show's in Indianapolis. Perhaps NoblesvilleM3 would be more comfortable at an Ann Coulter event????

Kathy Griffin said something very true that all Hollywood stars and athletes should realize. The only god who cares about them winning awards and games is the god they made up.

get a grip people...Kathy said something that is sooo very true. I am sick of seeing stupid retarded rap stars get up on stage and thank GOD for their song about smaking up bitches and hoes and drinking the night away in their hotels while having orgies and carrying thier peices. Get a life. Its called comedy for a reason. It would be like one of us getting up there and saying "I want to thank GOD for giving me the talent to ryhme the word "HOES" with "BROS" or witch and bitch. Those of you who whine and moan are pathetic. Waste of air and space..... Get a life.

Thehotone is dead on, as though God cares or sits down and plots out who should win an MTV award. That is why Kathy Griffin is funny, she calls out these things that we have all come to just blithely accept, calls into question why we worship celebrities and the absurdity of it all.

Why doesn't it surprise me to see someone with the moniker "irishmomof9" has her panties in a wad over Kathy Griffin to the point where she wants the show cancelled? Didn't I see you protesting the windows at Victoria's Secret?

Everyone, please... if you don't like Kathy Griffin, DON'T BUY A TICKET TO HER SHOW. It ain't mandatory! Geez...

I happen to love Kathy Griffin and completely agree with her on many, many topics, this one included. The abuse of "God" in this country is pathetic and the fact that so many people just fall in line and eat the bulls--- churches are selling is embarrassing. To hear "celebs" thanking God all the time... yes, it's laughable, almost as laughable as the people who don't like something, therefore think it should automatically be banned for all people on the planet. Like someone else said, get a grip people.

Oh, and yes, thanks for the phone number, I have also called to thank them for bringing Kathy to town. :)

I agree- i you don't like her, don't go see her. It's called free speech. I'm a Christian, but there are bigger things to worry about and protest than Kathy Griffin.
