Since when does Peter Frampton and a former band vocalist headline over Kenny Wayne Shepperd and Jonny Lang? Oh well still a great lineup! Too bad they didn't book some of this talent for Carb Day. Ted would of been good for Carb Day!!

On Ribfest:

Hmphhh...I can think of several comments I'd like to leave based on this lineup.

  1. I will be getting my ribs to go this year
  2. Thank God for the local bands
  3. With this much advanced notice, I now have time to grow a mullet
  4. What? No Henry Lee Summer? Son of a...
  5. Note to self: Bring IPod to Ribfest.

Great news on the Foo and Death Cab shows.

This sounds like a great lineup to me! I will be there. The last time Kenny Wayne Shepherd was here he was fabulous. Frampton, Nugent, & BOC are old but put on good concerts. The Why Store, Blind Melon, and Jonny Lang will be good too.

I absolutely cannot believe that Ribfest line up. Do they actually have a goal of keeping everybody under 45 away??? Those headliners are ridiculous.

Weird Al will be fun though.

I had no idea that Blind Melon had reformed since the lead singer passed away in '95.

Good grief. Now I know I'm tired. I read this VERY wrong. I thought you were saying the Foo's were playing the RibFest. haha. That would have been something to see haha.

Yes, extremely overdue. By my math, Dave Grohl hasn't played Indianapolis since a Red Hot Chili Peppers-Foo Fighters-Blonde Redhead show at Deer Creek in 2000.

I love the Foo Fighters. I saw them in '06 in Urbana-Champaign and it was awesome! Weezer opened and I was nervous. I saw them at Xfest in '94 or so and it was about the most awful sounding experience of my life. The performance in '06 was one of the tightest (musically) performance I have seen and then they covered "Big Me" since the Foo Fighters won't play the song live anymore for fear of being pelted with Mentos. It was great.

And then the Foo Fighters came on and I instantaneously realized I had never listened to their music properly. It has to be turned as loud as possible. That show was fantastic. Plus, University of Illinois' campus is cool.

Otherwise, I guess I have no reason to buy overpriced ribs this summer. Terrible lineup for RibFest. Abominoel is right!

BMack - I owe you a big thanks for the smile - do you think you could grow a mullet by RibFest? I think it would look fabulous...

Won't be attending this year. Was hoping to see some entertainers from the 1960's like The Lovin' Spoonful a couple of years ago. Alot of them are touring now but Ribfest didn't book anyone from that era. Maybe, next year???

You are absolutely correct. I was at that show and distinctly remember leaving when the Chili Peppers started (I am so not a fan). Good to see that Dave and the crew are coming back to Indy.
