Okay, so I was blinded by the glitter. The promise of material rewards just for submitting some posts / reviews to the site seemed so, so easy. But uh, wow. Actually submitting content that's worthy isn't quite the cake walk I thought it would be. I mean, sure. I could drop in the 3-sentence restaurant reviews like others but that doesn't quite seem fair. Instead, here I sit. A few hundred karma points shy of being qualified for being entered into the running for a prize. sigh Maybe next month.
You should get Karma for your awesome username and avatar. Thanks for all your reviews, comments and posts. For a last minute Karma boost, my suggestion is to add pics to your photo gallery. You'll see a nice boost. Possibly too nice of a boost, but adjustments are consistently being made to Karma to make it more fair.
Posting pics to gain karma points is the lazy person's method. There should be a limit to how many pictures one can post. Maybe a formula that only allows a portion of picture points to be eligible for prizes. When i saw the leaderboard and realized all they really had done was upload all the pics from their little My Space accounts, I decided to also take the lazy way out and add some random pictures of my own.
I always make a concerted effort to add a photo the majority of my posts I make. I'm not eligible for prizes, but it makes for a nicer-looking post and it does add to the karma, and it's decidedly not lazy, since I have to go looking for the photo elsewhere and then think up a caption for it.
I'll have to keep the picture idea in mind from now on whenever I go somewhere that I want to review. Thanks for the tip!

I would've have guessed that the point value for adding pictures would have dropped after the February karma contest.
I'm not going to lie though, if I win something, I'm not going to feel bad about the fact that I posted photos to get points.
I've been fairly active both months. Just missed the the start of March.
A good way is to write review of place youve eaten. I have ate at many different places and I didnt even realize how much karma I made in so little time. Just go through and if you have eaten there recently give you opinion on what you thought, plus it helps other people deciding on where to go, cause sometimes its nice to know what kind of place it is before you go.
I have no idea who has a myspace account, just made a random comment which fell on sensitive ears...to quote Dick Cheney, "never apologize, never explain."
