So another thing I've been meaning to ask you...
We've been considering joining a gym around here. Possibly the YMCA or the place in Broad Ripple (Cardinal Fitness? I'm having a brain fart...)
Any recommendations? We're not looking for anything really fancy, just something cheap for both of us. Some elipticals, weights, stationaries, treadmills, the basics.
Suggestions?
I joined the YMCA a couple of months ago. The registration fee and monthly membership is on a sliding scale based on how much money you make. You can find out how much it would be for you here:

They have all the basic stuff you mentioned, plus a variety of programs you can get involved in should the mood strike. They also have the advantage of several locations around town that you can utilize. It's been a good experience for me. Two thumbs up.
When I lived on the east side I absolutely loved going to the Y on Shortridge Rd. They remodeled it a few years back and did a fantastic job. They had an indoor pool, spa, track, classes, weights, racquetball, basketball, etc. But my favorite was the gym equipment. Besides all the countless ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes, they had all of the electronic equipment. It was all hooked up into a computer. On your first day the trainer goes through it all with you. You pick a pin number then when you get to each piece of equipment you put your pin number in. Each piece of equipment remembers where your seat should be placed, what weight you did last, etc. Then when you are done and you sign out, it tells you how much weight you lifted and you can also add how much time you jogged, your weight for the day, etc. It was sooo nice!
Hi, I would like to recommend to you to try the Lifestyle Family Fitness in the area. You can use all the locations around town, group fitness classes, basketball, swiming pool, and all the cardio and strength training you might want. Be sure to bring headphones for your workout since you have your own built in flat screen on all the equipment in the cardio section. You can go online to here http://www.lff.com/GuestPass.aspx?sid=Mjc=& and get a guest pass to try it out for free for the day. You can even do a virtual tour of the club before you go into it at http://www.lff.com/VirtualTour.aspx
THe Y in Fishers dicriminates so badly and the higher ups well they cover it up too. My advice: Go far away from this organization!!
