My wife and I are both big Foodies, and we really enjoy going out to dinner, but it seems as though it's almost impossible to get a decent meal for two for less than $50 or $60 (or more with wine or a couple cocktails).

Our favorite place that fits the bill (no pun intended) is Mama Coralla's, but we need some more options.

We're not really fans of a lot of casual chain restaurants (see Applebee's, TGI Friday's, etc...).

What's your favorite "In Between" place to eat?

All types of food are game.

My husband and I like the following restaurants for non-chain, non-cheap-cheap (we've got a whole list of those): Abyssinia, which is great for folks who like the intimacy of eating off the same plate & spicy food; La Margarita, a place with excellent Friday specials, especially the grouper in chipotle sauce; Naked Tchopstix - try the Korean dishes; Santorini Greek Kitchen; and Istanbul Cafe - close to your upper range, but this place demonstrates great care with their food.

Looking at that list, I realize that a nice mid-range meal in this city seems almost exclusively the specialty of "ethnic" restaurants. Too bad our city doesn't have more bistro-type or nice Americana restaurants at a not-budget-busting price range. I like eating high and low, but more variety for eating middle would be great.

Tuesday night's at Marco's Restaurant, 54th near Keystone; 9.95 Filet, Baked Potato and choice of soup or salad.

Fantastic! Juts make sure you call ahead and make reservations, otherwise you may not get a table til 9!

Cheers!

Ambrosia in Broad Ripple. Also in Broad Ripple is Canal Bistro for Mediterranean. Some Guys Pizza has great lasagna the first weekend of the month. And try dinner at the Loft at Trader's Point Creamery on Friday or Saturday evenings. None of the entrees are more than $20, and the current dinner menu sounds great.
