I just got done watching the Japanese film "Audition," one of my 202 films in 1,001 days. Has anyone else seen this film? I'm hesitant to discuss it in too much detail for fear of spoiling it for people, but it's one of those movies that I know is just going to stick with me.
Based on what I've read online, I think I have a bit of a different take on things, and I know that this is what the author of the novel and the filmmakers intended.
I'll stop here and let the conversation evolve from the posts, and will possibly add a spoiler tag to the title. Who else has seen this film?
I discovered this movie from Bravo's "100 Scariest Movies Of All Time" special a couple of years ago and just going by Rob Zombie's take on this film, I had to see it....so I rented it I want to say from Blockbuster because netflix didn't have it or the other way around, anyway like Joe said this movie will stick with you.....I can't ruin it for people either Joe.
Just rent it and check it out, this is a creepy creepy film.
Freakiest movie I've ever seen. It gives me a cold chill just thinking about it.
I've only seen clips on the Bravo show mentioned by irrateboss but those alone were pretty freaky. Thanks for the reminder that I need to watch the whole thing!

Go for it. You'll regret it, but you'll also be glad you did.
Yes, this film creates contradictions within us. It's THAT screwy.

I love the internal contradictions. Without them, I'm not sure how I'd stay busy.
One hint: pay special attention to the sound effects in this film, especially in the last 10 minutes of the movie or so. They are just spectacular.
Without spoiling anything, let me say it does a tremendous job of telling you the transitions through cutting through something that has certain layers to it.
