You are a castaway on an island...there's the palm trees, sunshine and....comic books. You can have the entire catalog of certain superhero comic books but only by a single comic book artist/creator. Who do you pick? Stan Lee? Jack Kirby??
Frank Miller.
Just leave me with a big stack of Daredevil, Batman and Sin City and I'll be a happy (though deserted) camper.
This is a tough question. As far as writers go, my choices would probably boil down to either Frank Miller, Neil Gaimain or Alan Moore. I'd probably go with Neil Gaiman though, especially if I could bring his books too.
For artists, my choice would definitely be Sam Kieth. I wish his catalog was larger though.
Yeah, Frank Miller stories could definitely keep me occupied.
The problem with Frank Miller, Neil Gaiman, and Alan Moore is that they haven't created the massive amount of material that creators like Stan Lee and Jack Kirby worked on during their careers. If I'm going to be on an island for a long time, rather than necessarily pick some one like Gaiman, who's body of work is small enough that I could read through it quite quickly, I'd probably go with some one like Stan Lee or John Byrne, who created thousands of comics over the years.
Chris Claremont would also be a good option, as he wrote hundreds and hundreds of X-men comics, especially when you add in titles like New Mutants, Excalibur, and X-Factor.
I don't necessarily enjoy Uncanny X-Men more than Sandman, but I want to be entertained for as long as possible on this theoretical island.

All valid points. And I did read a whole lot of X-Men growing up. Neil Gaiman has done quite a bit of writing though. Here's a couple of lists:

I feel like I get more out of his writing. In my opinion, his work has more repeated-reading value.
