Today:
I'm speaking of the alcoholic variety, of course. I've always been a bourbon and coke guy, but I'm thinking of branching out, and I could use some suggestions. This past Monday, I was exposed to a diabolical concoction of blueberry vodka and lemonade that was so easy to drink you could be unconscious before you even knew you were drunk. Diabolical.
kahlua and Cream for pure enjoyment and taste, Belvedere dirty martini for style and Jack and Coke to get a buzz...
I suspect I would have severe problems with Kahlua stomachwise. At least after drinking a half dozen or so. It's to my great shame that I've never had a martini. Perhaps I should try classing it up a bit.
If you don't mind the pine tree taste, but aren't quite ready for a straight up martini, I would suggest trying a gimlet (gin and lime juice are the only ingredients).
My personal favorites are: Guinness, a glass (or bottle) of a good Bordeaux, vodka and 7, Cosmopolitans with Cointreau (instead of with triple sec), and Maker's and Coke.
I went through a brief gimlet phase. They have the advantage of being easy to make. If a drink requires more than two steps, my drunk mind isn't likely to hang with it for long.
Chocolate martinis are a lot of fun. And mint juleps are great. But if we ever get a nice warm sunny day, have a gin and lemonade.
Whiskey sours and Manhattans from the Red Key are my favorites; they're truly something special.
An authentic margarita made with 100% agave tequila, Cointreau and fresh squeezed lime juice.
if you want something easy to drink, i would suggest any flavored vodka and soda water with just a sqeeze of lime. it's crisp and refreshing and has no alcoholic taste whatsoever. beware, you'll be on your ass before you know it!
For beer, I like Guinness or "The Black" from Brugge. For liquor, I usually go with gin & tonics or dirty martinis. My friends always make a big deal about how I like to drink things that are "hard to like". I can't stand really sweet drinks...they mess with my stomach for some reason.

Given my recent experience with lemonade, I'm going to assume that this is a good, if somewhat dangerous idea. Isn't that what Snoop Dogg drinks?

I generally agree. If you're planning on drinking a lot (and who the hell isn't?) the sweet stuff can play havoc with your innards.

Me and Snoop Dogg -- what a hoot! But I'm guessing my pitchers of gin and lemonade aren't quite as strong as his.
They're great to drink out on the deck on a warm, sunny day, even though my fuzzy memories of drinking hairy buffaloes in college confirms the generally good advice of not mixing fruit juice with booze.
I generally stick to wine. Usually red. Maybe rose for spring. Although there's a sweet, easy-drinking white that's fun for summertime: Alice White's Lexia (inexpensive and available at grocery stores).
Typically it's whatever is in front of me. If I have a choice, manhattan, whiskey and coke or the old standby beer.
I'm originally from N.E. Ohio. I use to go to a small bar there, and one of the bartender's would make what she called 'Duck Farts'. I know sounds grooossss. It's quite yummy. Almost like a chocolate milk shake. Its made in a blender with Bailey's, Kahlua, Crown and ice. Delicious. When its made just right, you couldn't taste any alcohol. And would be done for the night very quickly!!
