David Lindquist

Branford Marsalis engaged in a Knicks-Pacers argument with an audience member during the first event ... John Hiatt receiving hometown love ... Elvin Jones bringing the spirit of Coltrane to Military Park ... Norah Jones playing an afternoon set as an unknown ... Tony Bennett showing off his pipes by putting down the microphone and still reaching thousands of listeners ... Shaggy shaking things up for listeners who probably didn't know they could dance that way ... Buddy Montgomery bringing Naptown pride the year the festival was trimmed to a single afternoon ... and, unfortunately, too much rain on too many occasions.

Last year, Saturday afternoon on the second stage Somi made my scalp tingle with her pipes. She was ridiculously good at singing music I didn't even know I liked until I saw her.
