This years Easter is a very rare one. It has been 113 years since Easter was this early and will be another 220 years before it happens again. Seeing Haleys comet was another rare event that I won't see again in my lifetime.Known as the Paschal Moon, Pasqua means Easter in Italian. (1st full moon after the Spring equinox).

I just learned how they determine the date for Easter. Unlike most other religious holidays, this one is determined by the stars...in a sense. The practice goes back to early times when electric light didn't exist and Easter was celebrated during the night before what we would now consider Easter Sunday. In order to have maximum moonlight, and thus be able to see what was going on, Easter was set on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox(start of Spring).
