April 4th is a busy night in Indianapolis, but if you plan right I think you can hit up just about every event. Margot and the Nuclear So and So's are headlining a Rock for Riley Benefit show at The Vogue with Wisconsin's Bon Iver opening. Bon Iver is Justin Vernon, and his record 'For Emma Forever Ago' is one of the best records I've heard so far this year. The vibe on the record is singer/songwriter but from what I understand his live show includes a full rockin' band. Give to a great cause and check out two really good bands.
I posted something about this show nearly a month ago and got no responses. Apparently Indy.com-ers are tepid to Margot. But I definitely got my ticket and will see you there April 4th. They're also doing a show in Bloomington on April 24th, and I'm considering getting a ticket to that show too.
Sorry about that! I didn't mean to ignore your post! It's hard to keep track now that more people are joining. I am certainly excited for this show, though. I haven't seen Margot in ages!
Kind of weird that an artist with the huge buzz of Bon Iver is opening for Margot. Home court advantage, I suppose.

i think Indianapolis, in general, not just indy.com'ers are kind of getting over Margot. there's no doubt they are an extremely talented band but when there's only one real band in an area that makes it and they play the city over and over again and no other bands step up to the challenge people get tired of the redundancy. i also think most are over the antics of the lead singer. i don't know how else to say this other than to just come out and say it... the guy ain't Kurt Cobain, stop trying to be him.
having said all that, they're still the best band in this city.
