There is always something going on at the Indianapolis Art Center. The exhibitions in the galleries change every month or so. One can walk around and peek into the classrooms to see people of all ages learning the arts of ceramics, photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, woodworking, fiber, special media and beginner classes for "first-time" artists. Who knows---you might get inspired and sign up and make things and have fun. Relax with a book in the Ruth Lilly library: the fireplace and solid selection of art books and magazines make for a cozy, enlightening visit. Check out the schedule, maybe there's a film or live performance in the Basile Auditorium, which seats over 200 people. Feel like shopping? How convenient, there's a gift shop. This Saturday, October 27, 2007, from 3-8 p.m Indianapolis Art Center will celebrate the traditional Mexican holiday, El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with a free festival. This is the eighth annual celebration and brings more than 2,500 people to the Art Center. For more information, check out www.indplsartcenter.org.
