Parts and Labor

On the heels of a stint at South By Southwest, Brooklyn's Parts & Labor will perform at the Melody Inn this Thursday. I mention it here because it's an exceptional show that slipped beneath Indy.com's editorial radar.

P&L (who are on Bloomington's Jagjaguwar label) play propulsive, seizure-inducing noise rock that's heavily indebted to Minnesota punk legends Husker Du. With trebly, buzzsaw guitars, jackhammer drums and squealing synths, P&L's jagged elements combine to produce grand, even uplifting songs -- check out a great video by the band here.

Parts and Labor will play with fellow Brooklyn noise rockers Pterodactyl and local avant garde band We Are Hex.
