Is there anyone out there who hasn't tried dim sum? It's Chinese cuisine consisting of small plates of food - kind of like Chinese tapas. We go to Shen Yang and also Great Garden restaurants - both located in the area of 38th St & Lafayette Rd. Dim sum can be ordered daily on the menu at both places but on the weekends they come around to your table with carts of food and you can pick and choose as you like. I think Shen Yang's selection of dim sum is more diverse than Great Garden's. But both places are wonderful and worth trying. Those are the only 2 places in town that I know of that serve dim sum. If anyone knows of any other places in town or nearby please let me know!
I have not had dim sum here in Indy. Have had it in Chinatown in San Fransisco so hearing your story or them rolling around carts to your table was very accurate. If I understand as well, dim sum is also only suppose to be served at lunch. Will have to try it here in town.
Shanghai Lil's on Sundays. Best dim sum I''ve had since leaving the left coast.
Check it out here
