The tragedy of California's most recent wildfire outbreak sparked a rather spirited dinner conversation a few nights ago: what are the worst disasters or crises (man made or natural) which have the realistically conceivable potential to assail Indy in the near future? (Tornadoes count, I suppose, but you know, friend, that's way too easy.) And, by our 200th anniversary, how will the future face of Indiana be affected?
Floods are always a possibility. Seems as though this whole state is one giant floodplain.
Busta Rhymes ... you make me smile with that one.
One great thing about living in the midwest (aside from the ridiculously cheap cost of living) is that we're safe from most forms of natural disasters. No significant earthquakes, no hurricanes, not many serious tornadoes on this edge of Tornado Alley, pretty tough to flood in most areas of the state...really the only thing we need to worry about is the next glacier.
Bunnies. Or dolphins, like in that Simpsons episode.
I have a friend who has been evacuated from her home in CA. She couldn't believe we don't have any natural disasters to worry about.
Ooh, rampant killer bunny attacks statewide Myxomatosis epidemic I like it!
