I have a 65 lb, male, adopted pit bull. I am looking at either purchasing or adopting another dog.

I am well aware that the humane society is bursting at the seams with animals that need a home.

To be honest, part of me wants a large breed, designer dog. I like Dogue de Bordeaux, Great Danes, Blue Heelers, Mastiffs, Huskies and Malamutes. Dogs of that nature.

I want something energetic that I can take out hiking with me and such. Unfortunately my current critter bolts like John Dillinger once off his leash. I also believe the new addition will be good for the mental health of my current pet.

Suggestions please.
