Can someone advise me if i should see this at the theatre or wait for the DVD? Actually i'm just trying to rack up more points by posting my first, well, post.

At least your honest about the post. I would say you could wait to see the movie on DVD. I saw it in theater, and it was a good movie, lots of gory details that show up on the big screen, but not a must see for the theater.

I would argue you need to see this in a movie theater, just to see a crowd reaction.

I'm an advocate for seeing films in the theater both for the reasons JL talked about above, and for the "attention" factor-and this is a film you REALLY need to pay attention to.

But it comes out on DVD next week, so as long as you can devote some attention to it, might as well wait.

dvd. awesome movie, no buildings being blown up or robots that turn into cars and then back into robots. watch it on your couch.

KARMA POINTS!

I do love seeing movies at the theater, sometimes i can't but will try to catch it before it hits DVD. Thanks everyone. (and THIS post wasn't just for the points...)

Joe's valid points aside, it is nice to watch at home because you don't want to miss anything! I rewound it several times to make sure I didn't miss a beat. I meant to watch it one more time after pondering it for a day or two but missed the chance. It's a movie that stayed with me more than most.

Don't get me wrong, it's a movie you can watch at home, but for someone in, say, my circumstances, with two young children, I certainly am glad to have had the chance to see it without having them rolling around and screaming all around me while I'm trying to figure out what Tommy Lee Jones is saying. :)

I echo Joe's comments. It's just that if there's a choice between theater and home, I choose theater everytime. Then I watch it at home to catch what I missed the first time or to just enjoy.

Joe, I sympathize. We don't start movies until the kids are in bed for that reason and I can't count the number of times I have fallen asleep before the movie is over. I use this as a pretty accurate meter of the success/enjoyment of a movie. If I make it to the end either I really like it or I at the very least I can't sleep.

That said, my wife and I are actually going to the movies tonight and I would love some recommendations. I am not a movie snob so it can be a hollywood blockbuster or the newest indie film playing at Key Cinemas. Answer here or shoot it my way!
