I just created my profile and felt obligated to post something. The only thought that I've currently got in my head right now involves how awesome Everclear were.

Seriously, what happened to those guys?!?

I've been listening to them all afternoon and I've yet to hear a bad song by 'em.

I owe my newly rediscovered joy of Everclear to my loving and thoughtful fiancee...she got me a Zune for Valentine's Day and it's allowed me to enjoy all the music I enjoyed when I was younger.

Thanks, babe...yer the absolute best!!!

They are a great band. I don't know what they are up to but So Much For The Afterglow is one of the greatest cds of all time.

While I would defend that this record isn't half bad and liked it a lot when I was 15. it's not even on the top 500 list of all time greatest albums.

They sold themselves out hardcore after that album.. Some AM radio song with a really cheesy video.. so painful

Their first CD, "Sparkle and Fade" was their best. From there, the music and what the songs were all about just got too repetitive for me. They just got too predictable. Whatever the sound of the hit single from one of their CD's was, the next album had nothing but crappy clones of that hit. It's ok for a band to have their own style but when they do watered down versions of that same style, that's crap.

I liked "Sparkle & Fade" and "So Much For The Afterglow" after that they kind of went south, and I agree with benjamindy.

However I did see them at one of the X-Fests, they were one of the highlights of the whole show imo.

They were OK to hear on the radio once in a while but I can't imagine sitting down listening to an entire album. I did see the lead singer once a few years ago at the Circle Centre Mall walking out of that clothing store with the fake front porch and headless mannequins with the tanned buff torsos. He was carrying a shopping bag and walking with a cute lady. He kinda looked like Chris Kattan wearing a pooka shell necklace and soul patch.
