When Battlestar Galactica's third season ended last spring, the long wait began for all of us who are huge fans of the show. It's a brutal nine months between one of the most revealing -- and most mysterious -- episodes in the entire series and the beginning of the "final chapter" that will eventually conclude the saga. It's been agonizing. If you're a fan, you understand. This is one of the greatest shows and one of the greatest storylines in the history of the small screen, and to be torn away from it for nine months is torture.
To slake the thirst in advance of the 4th (and final) season premiere in January 2008, a two-hour "movie" is about to be released, entitled Battlestar Galactica: Razor. It's a step outside of the series' timeline, and tells the story of the Pegasus and Admiral Cain (Michelle Forbes -- she does a fantastic job) from the time of the cylon attack until the time they ran into the Galactica. We know from the moment the Pegasus showed up in the middle of season 2 that some dark things had happened on that ship since they had escaped the initial attack. TV Squad posted an early look at the movie the other week, and came away quite impressed. The action and intensity was every bit as good as we have come to expect from this show, they said. It's always interesting to see a story you're familiar with from a different perspective.
So I'm really looking forward to Razor, if only to get my fix before season 4 starts. It looks like it will be quite a ride. It airs November 24th at 9PM on SciFi.
Razor sounds awesome. Can't wait until Nov. 24.
Any word on the release date of additional episodes on DVD?
