So "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" wrapped up its first season last night with two-hour double-header. The late resolution of the writers' strike means no more episodes this season, and the middling ratings may mean it doesn't come back at all.
If so, what was your take on this film-to-TV crossover experiment?
Overall, I thought the series stumbled around a bit, but showed enough promise to deserve a return. The final two or three episodes were considerably stronger than the first ones.
The final 10 minutes of the last episode, where the renegade cyborg posing as an FBI agent takes out an entire squad of heavily-armed feds, was some of the best TV I've watched this season. Tell me you weren't blown away by all those agents in riot gear floating dead in the swimming pool.
And Brian Austin Greene was a strong addition to the cast as John's uncle, come back through time to protect him. Hard to believe this badass is the same guy from "90210."
My vote: I want more "Terminator" TV.
We loved this show. I bit gruesome - we have to watch when its on and tape it so our kids don't see it, but that's all. I think it has great potential!
I love this show!! At first, I was a little leary since they were making him a high school student- and I didn't really see the relevance of the one girl committing suicide mid-way- but I LOVED THE FINAL EPISODE. I agree with you about the final 10 minutes with the FBI guys floating in the pool while Johnny Cash is singing. Perfect. I'll be awaiting its return!
Trying to figure out the time lines of any of the 'Terminator' movies or the series will give you a headache. I'd like the series better if they weren't already planning ANOTHER feature film trilogy for the franchise.
