I've never really done anything fun on St. Patrick's Day, so I'm pretty excited to see that there is a good show scheduled at the Melody Inn. I even planned to take a half day the next day for recovery. The show included Jorma & the Movie Bear, The Impossible Shapes and Eli McCormick. Jorma Whittaker has been making music in Indianapolis for years, be it with with Movie Bear, Marmoset, or on his own as a solo artist. The Impossible Shapes all currently chill in Bloomington, and are always great live. I don't know much about Eli McCormick, but his myspace page says he's influenced by Bert Jansch, Unrest and Roy Acuff. All winners in my book. See you there! The Melody Inn is located on Illinois Street just north of 38th St. The website says the show is $5.
I usually lay low on St. Pat's but this is show is mandatory.
First of all, Happy Drunk Day! Second of all, yes this show does sound like the ticket. I considered doing the traditional Irish music thing somewhere, but instead I think I'll just fulfill my obligation in that regard by listening to the Pogues all day and hitting the Mel tonight.
