The Piano Lesson, now playing at IRT, is a MUST SEE!!! Not only because I am quite fond of the talent displayed by a particular young lady that I am very proud of (Yanna), but because the youth are really putting on something spectacular. Even the amateurs are bringing it!!! You can make it a family affair and I promise it's one that you will all love!

2/20/2008 - 3/15/2008

This is a two and a half hour production with a 15 minute intermission.

For tickets, call (317)635-5252.

"Pittsburgh, 1936. Berniece will not let go of her great-grandfather's piano. Covered with incredible carvings, it recounts her family's rise from slavery. Her brother, Boy Willie, wants to sell the piano to buy land. Respect for their ancestors collides with desire for a new life as sister and brother struggle with the unknowable balance between holding on to the past and letting go for the right reasons."

Post show discussions will be held after the following performances: Sunday, March 2, 2:00 p.m. (Tea Talk) Thursday, March 6, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 6:30 p.m.

American Sign Language interpretation and audio description will be offered at the Sunday, March 2, 2:00 p.m. performance.

WOW! You should come over sometime & read the reviews SIAM got when he and Joe Laderson did that play. If you think SIAM is great as a poet, his acting [which he & Joe have both taken a hiatus from] will really blow oyu away.

Come to think of it, why don't you come over some time anyway & just hang out with me?
