Event Name: FOREVER PLAID Time/Date: April 17, 18, 19, 20 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday at 5:00 PM) Description: The story of The Plaids is the stuff legends are made of. Poised on the verge of the big-time, The Plaids -- otherwise known as Smudge, Jinx, Frankie and Sparky -- were on their way to the first big gig. Unfortunately, their car had a one-sided encounter with a bus full of parochial school girls on their way to watch the Lads from Liverpool perform on the Ed Sullivan show. That would have been all she wrote for any lesser act. But The Plaids weren't about to let a little thing like death stand in their way. They wrangled a special dispensation, along with a little help from some holes in the ozone layer and astro-technical stuff that has allowed The Plaids to return to earth, perform the show they never got to do in life and finish what they began. Now they're here with their shoes shined and their harmonies sounding better than ever -- all ready to delight Central Indiana audiences. Cost to attend: $32 for Adults, $27 for Seniors (65+), $25 Group Rate (10+), $19 Student, $12 children (12 and under) Public contact: 317-669-7983 or email to info@actorstheatreofindiana.org Media contact: ATI Co-Founders Don Farrell, Judy Fitzgerald, Cynthia Collins, 317-669-7983 phone, 317-669-8083 fax, or email to dfarrell@actorstheatreofindiana.org.

Second in the mainstage line-up for ATI is the Central Indiana Premiere of the hysterical farce Perfect Wedding by playwright Robin Hawdon.
PREMISE: A man wakes up in the bridal suite on his wedding morning to find an extremely attractive naked girl in bed beside him. Before he can get her out, his bride to be arrives to dress for the wedding and, in the ensuing panic, the girl is locked in the bathroom. The best man is persuaded to claim her, but he gets confused and introduces the chamber maid to the bride as his date. The crisis escalates to nuclear levels by the time the mother of the bride and the best man's actual girlfriend arrive. And closing our 2008 season, the tradition continues with our highly acclaimed production of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD!
"Actors Theatre of Indiana gave us a very lovely gift this year. Frog would say "thank you." So would Toad. So do I." Lou Harry, Indianapolis Business Journal.
ATI continues this wonderful holiday tradition for the whole family with Arnold Lobel's well-loved characters that will hop from the page to the stage in Robert and Willie Reale's musical. This wonderful show remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows two great friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special. A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD received three Tony nominations, including Best Musical and continues to be the holiday's most fun family-oriented production. Artistic Director and Co-Founder Judy Fitzgerald directs, Co-Founder Cynthia Collins choreographs, and Terry Woods music directs this stellar cast of A Year with Frog & Toad that runs December 12 - 21, 2008 at the Pike Performing Arts Center (Thursday, Friday, Saturday's at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday's at 2:00 pm.
