The 2008 edition of the Indiana State Fair has added two concerts to a star-studded summer for country music in Indianapolis.
Carrie Underwood will perform Aug. 8 at the Grandstand, and Sugarland will perform Aug. 12.
Former "American Idol" champion Underwood won a Grammy Award earlier this month in the category of best female country vocal performance. Sugarland has sold more than 4 million copies of its albums "Twice the Speed of Life" and "Enjoy the Ride."
Tickets for Underwood's show are priced at $75.50, $57.50 and $40.50.
Sugarland tickets are priced at $60, $40 and $30.
Fair admission is included in the price of concert tickets.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 12 at the fairgrounds box office, 1202 E. 38th St., at Ticketmaster locations, by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or calling (317) 239-5151.
Fair organizers expect to add more concerts to this preliminary list of Grandstand entertainment.
Away from the fair, the summer in country music boasts a Kenny Chesney show Sept. 13 at Lucas Oil Stadium, plus performances by Tim McGraw (May 23), Rascal Flatts (June 14), Brad Paisley (June 26), Brooks & Dunn (July 20) and Toby Keith (Aug. 2) at Verizon Wireless Music Center.
More reason to stay away from the State Fair. Bring in a real band like Beck for a concert!
I can't believe Carrie Underwood is charging that much for her concert. Just ridiculous. I like her music, but she is not George Strait and shouldn't be charging those kind of prices. Come down off your high horse there girly.
Wow, that is alot of money for a concert at the fair.
You complain, yet it will still sell out, which will justify what they're asking. Supply, meet demand. Demand, supply.
You want prices to come down? STOP BUYING THE TICKETS!
