Earlier in this presidential race I was pretty excited about the prospects of an Obama vs Rudy race. Then Rudy ran a really horrible campaign, and that fossil John Mccain grabbed the nomination. Great another really old white guy with one foot in the grave on the GOP side. I was pretty excited about Mr. Obama last summer, even had him in my top friends on myspace. But, after watching the BBC News of the World here lately, and watching Hollywood fawn over him, I've really really lost my zeal. I don't know if I can vote for someone that Europe and Hollywood are basically drooling over. Anyone else feel this way? Guess I'm gonna have to vote for myself again this election year. Bummer
I was offended when his wife made the comment about being proud of this country for the first time.
Let's be honest here people... this country has had dirty hands from it's beginning... For the first time in a while, the nation has taken time out to look at this man for the politician he is and what he can do for this nation, not just a black man who happens to be running for president. That IS something to be proud of... perhaps as a nation, we are becoming more mature. 50 years ago, neither Hillary OR Barack would have had this opportunity...
no lets be real honest here, what country (or person for that matter) hasn't had dirty hands? while we're being honest, can you or anyone else tell me EXACTLY what this man or the woman or the other man running for office can do for this nation? hopefully you can because i can't. 50 years ago is neither here nor there for me since i was born in 75.
another thought about this whole presidential race. my hopes last summer for candidate's actually meaning it when they said "change" have once again gone out the window. i thought maybe campaigns might be run cleanly this year. a fools hope. now we're deep into negative campaigning instead of focusing on our problems. i guess the more things "change" the more they stay the same.
I think the real deal is do we want to keep dealing with the same old politicians and have them keep giving us the same old bull or do we take a chance and try something, someone different? Frankly, I'm tired of the Bush-Clinton musical chair game. Who will it be next? Jeb (Bush)? Jenna?
Jenna would be the hottest prez ever!
This is a primary. People are only enthusiastic about the CHANCE to vote for a woman or a black man. Let's see how they act during an actual election.
Personally, I don't see much of a difference between the three candidates politically. We have a liberal conservative or two conservative liberals. All 3 are pretty much in the center on most issues, which is the reason any of them have a chance to be elected in the first place.
