Maybe you want to warm up for Sunday's Oscars by crooning "Falling Slowly," the folksy Academy Award nominee for best song of the year, from the movie "Once."

Or maybe you just want to team up with a friend and belt out a few bars of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive."

Whatever your taste, here are some local karaoke bars where you can flex your vocal skills.

Gg's Bar & Grill

A neighborhood watering hole known for its double hamburgers, steak, chicken and shrimp dishes, it also serves up beer, wine and mixed drinks. Customers take the stage for karaoke from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturdays.

Living Room Lounge

Known for its comfort food, the Living Room features a full menu, served in a casual atmosphere. Cocktails, wine and bottled and draft beers are available. Karaoke begins at 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday; 8 a.m. to midnight Sunday.

J.D.'s Pub

A neighborhood bar known for its full menu including steak, pizza and sandwiches. Drink specials are offered daily. Karaoke begins at 10 p.m. Saturdays.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 3:30 a.m. Saturday; noon to 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Tip Top Tavern

A cozy Downtown hideaway with great burgers, the Tip Top offers a full-service menu including pizza, nachos and specialty sandwiches. Live entertainment is offered nightly and karaoke begins at 9 p.m. Wednesdays.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday; 11 a.m. to midnight Sundays.

Claude & Annie's

Located just around the corner from the Indianapolis Airport, this bar and grill offers rockin' around the clock. A jukebox is always on, and Friday and Saturday nights the karaoke machine is cranked and ready to go from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Cocktails and dozens of imported and domestic beers are served up along with sandwiches, soups, salads and pizzas.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday; 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday.

Free Spirit Lounge

A place to unwind, and if you're traveling through Indy, spend the night at the adjoining Dollar Motel. A full menu is available along with drinks and free popcorn with drink purchases. Karaoke begins at 8 p.m. Wednesdays, and 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
