here is a quote of Bobby Knight and it is soo relevant to IU's current situation "If my primary purpose here at Indiana is to go out and win ballgames, I can probably do that as well as anybody can. I would just cheat, get some money from a lot of people around Indianapolis who want to run the operation that way, and just go out and get the best basketball players I can. Then we'd beat everybody." Bobby Knight Tell me what you think of this... of how true it is...
Sorry buddy, not really. All Sampson did was make some phone calls he shouldn't have made. There have been far worse things that coaches have done.
yeah but it will probably cost Coach Sampson his job.. and look how much of a distraction it is for the IU basketball team
I think if we cared half as much about education as we do about sports in this country, we'd have a lot less problems in general.

Did you see that game last night? I'm sure it's a distraction but not that big.
I watched just a few minutes of the game last night, and Dick Vitale was all over him. It's really kind of a telling quote about Bob Knight's integrity, at least with regard to having an ethical code about the rules and the integrity of the game.
Again I'll pose the question, since I haven't gotten an answer: if it wasn't such a big deal, why was it important enough for Sampson to risk his job and his reputation (and the school's) to make those calls?

In the heat of the moment I think very few of us are exempt from making mistakes, but it is a telling tale how they react to making those mistakes....so in this case Sampson decided to take lightly a second chance at a job that I'm sure he really enjoys but couldn't discipline himself enough to stay within the lines. He should have been scared to death the first time he got caught, but I guess nobody close enough to him was in his ear about it so he did it again.
