Robert J. Lang finishing heron #3 for the IMA display

If you haven't already checked it out you need to see the cool origami by Robert J. Lang that is now on display at the IMA.

The artist was at the IMA Feb. 16 & 17th folding some large paper herons out of sheets of paper that are 6' square. A physicist by degree, Lang was rather entertaining to listen to as he folded. He explained that in recent years he and others have figured out the math behind origami to the point they can design a piece and lay it out on the paper then fold it. This is in contrast to the trial and error methods that used to be used to come up with new designs.

After seeing the origami you might want to visit the gift shop and pick up some books so you can go home and fold.
