Who says Valentine's Day is reserved for candlelight dinners with someone special?
Maybe you're single, divorced or in a complicated relationship, and you crave a night on the town as much as a bag of Doritos, two scoops of Chunky Monkey, or a dark Samuel Adams in a long neck.
Here are some places to hang out with no expectations and no obligations on Valentine's Day.
No hearts or flowers are needed when the meeting place is red -- the color of passion. Add dinner and music to the mix and the Red Room is the place to relax on Valentine's Day. House music will be the specialty.

One of the city's oldest watering holes, the Melody Inn offers an oak bar where you can sit back, relax, drink a cold one and listen to a variety of music. Check out Gretchen's annual "Anti-Valentine's Day Party," with DJs and guest Martin Atkins of industrial rock super group Pigface.

A club with a party atmosphere featuring dance music provided by DJs and local bands. Tonight, check out the "Angels & Devils Valentine's Day" event. Wear white for angels, red for devils. Music provided by Mardelay, Red Light Driver and Lynda Sayyah and the Jager Angels. The fun begins at 9:30 p.m.

An after-work place to kick back and relax with friends, grab a great meal and a cocktail. Tonight, live music will play from 8 to 11, with local classic rock band The Late Show. A fillet dinner special and drink specials, including 13 imports and microbrews, will be available.

A favorite in college towns, Scotty's specializes in brews (34 bottled), burgers and everything in between. The singles crowd will feel right at home during the restaurant's "Screw Cupid" event, which includes singles-night wine specials and half-priced bottles of premium wines.

Gee TJ, do you ever get to the southside of town? Your story is very provincial. Maybe you should get out of your own neighborhood once in awhile.
Way to bump a 2 month old post for no reason. Why go to the south side? To go to some redneck dive bar like Bubbaz?
