A quick glance through the extensive line-up of bands for this year's South by Southwest fest reveals two Indy music acts listed: Harley Poe and David Moore. Check out the full list of performers here: http://2008.sxsw.com/music/festival/alphalist/

Sisters will be playing there as well. Sisters is a new band from members of America Owns The Moon, ari ari, The Romance Morgue, and Those Young Lions.
sweet! Luna Music should've attempted to set up an afternoon showcase for Indianapolis bands. i'm sure the My Old Kentucky Blog guy could do that as well.
One of the spiffiest things about SXSW each year is the massive collection of free mp3s they make available via BitTorrent of the showcasing artists:

haven't checked to see if the torrents they link to are still active at all, so buyer beware.
Admittedly, there's a lot of crap in there, but it's a great way to find some new stuff, too, if you can't make it to Austin.
Here's hoping they do it again this year.
