Noticed that the magazine was formerly IMM (Indy Men's Magazine) and the reading is similar. Will IndySports make it as a "Pay" magazine?? Time will tell, but IMHO, the magazine will be off to a good return.
The cost of the magazine is $3.00 per issue.
Bah, sports are so boring. I want an Indy Nerds magazine.
Um, here's another opinion... There aren't too many things other than sports that the entire world can come together on for a two week period (Maybe Music?) ...can you say "Olympics?" Feels and sounds like international appeal to me? =) ...just havin' fun
But you do have my curiosity up Rictor...what subject matter would fill the pages of a "Nerd Magazine"?
Indy Men's Magazine was great. I was disappointed when they got rid of it.
Some may interpret the magazine as a freebie, because its been available at some lobbys in some stores along with such publications as Indy.com. Its kinda hard not to notice that IndySports says "Newsstand Price: $2.99", but there are those who think its available at no price.
The UPC code, however, doesnt work.
Where do you get it at? I'm gonna take some for free and sell them for $2.99! Anyone want to start a business with me?
Anyway an Indianapolis Sports Magazine sounds like kind of a lame idea. The Men's Mag was much better.
I know you can get Pulse Magazine, known as "The Heartbeat of Indianapolis," at Qdoba. It's a higher quality magazine than Indy Mens Sports whatever. The writers at Pulse are amazing.

That magazine sucks.
I cant say ive been impressed with pulse, maybe it will get better
For the record, Indy Sport has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Indy Men's Magazine. There is no editorial connection whatsoever. None. I am extremely proud of what we accomplished at Indy Men's and the loyalty and size of the readership was amazing. I'm disappointed that there is confusion (and that this new publication is adding to that confusion through some of its editorial decisions). Whatever the case, I just wanted to clear the record. FYI for IMM fans: Todd Tobias and I have two books coming out this year. The first, The Entourage Handbook, is due in April from Cider Mill Press. Also, the play "Midwestern Hemisphere", a collaboration between playwright (and frequent IMM contributor) Eric Pfeffinger and myself has its world premiere March 28th and runs through mid-April at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. If you liked IMM, I think you'll like this as well. Info at www.heartlandactors.org. If you've got any questions about Indy Men's or want to know about future projects involving the IMM contributors, feel free to e-mail me at workforlou@aol.com. Be well, Lou Harry

hey Indy Men's Magazine guy, what happened to your magazine? i actually thought it was pretty good as well.
please tell me that the "IndySports is now a pay magazine" line was a joke. PLEASE! did anyone read it when it was free?
Lou has every reason to be disappointed there's a perceived link between Indy Men's Magazine and this new publication. IMM served its readers well. The issue of Indy Sports with Tomas Scheckter on the cover comes up short in the categories of smarts, humor and Circle City personality.
David: Thanks for teh kind words.
Randy: Thanks for reading. If you want more from the IMM writers, see if you can scare up a copy of our anthology, The X-Mas Men. They should still have some at the Indiana Historical Society store. Great stuff from Tom Chiarella, Todd Tucker, Doug Crandell et al. (By the way, Doug's first novel came out a few months ago-- "The Flawless Skin of Ugly People." And Cathy Day's book on the Colts, "Comeback Season"--which began with an essay in IMM--is in stores. Like I said, I'm proud of the people we were able to lure to write for the mag.
Obey: It went the way of 9/10th of magazine start-ups. But we had a nearly five year run, which is something. Basically, we never had a problem getting readers. The advertising side had its challenges. All: If you make it to see "Midwestern Hemisphere," please make it a point to say hi before or after the show.
