I'm listening to the strangest interview on NPR right now. Author who wrote a biography of Dr. John Brinkley, a quack who made millions selling surgeries that implanted goat "glands" into people to improve their virility. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_R._Brinkley Can you top that?

I wouldn't call him a quack. A baaaa might be more appropriate. So, how many would-be Pans underwent the knife? The Wikipedia article mentioned 40 or so deaths. How many other patients survived, and were any of them satisfied?
