So I was sitting around with a few colleagues about aweek ago, and we were discussing the possibilities of a Democratic powerhouse ticket of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
We were attempting to analyze the prospects that they could potentially be unstoppable... that is unless they allow their egos to get in the way. They have been going kinda hard at each other for the last few weeks, and I wonder if it's possible that a working relationship could exist...
If they could get it together, who should run for the president's seat and why should the other back down???
Too bad Ron Paul got left behind....
Kinda off the subject, but I was watching CNN... (yes, I do that from time to time... mostly in doctors offices and in my office building where the lobby plasma is permanantly GLUED) and they were saying how Oprah popped her head back up on the Obama campaign trail... and I am still trying to figure out why I should care. Is this a high School prom committee meeting where popularity reigns, or are we deciding the next phase of our nation??
Oh, and about Ron Paul...the media is a beast that builds or devours at will... hungry? Why wait?
How about neither???
for those who don't want "neither", i'm curious as to why...not that anything is wrong with that, but i'm just curious as to why not...feel free to ask me the same as to why i am not even looking on the republican side and i'll answer, but trust it is not because i'm a democrat....in all honesty, i'm a lil torn on this right now, because i like them both....i feel like Hilary plays the sympathy card a little too much, and i feel like sometimes Barack answers questions when he's not sure of his response or his stand....but i would vote him for president and her for vice if i could....
i heard something that really made me think about NOT having Hillary as prez. Our image to the world and especially middle eastern countries is horrible. Middle Eastern countries, where women arent allowed to vote, go to school, etc, and where we need to do a lot of damage control will not take a woman president seriously. They already hate us. Having a woman president would just make them really not want to work with us even more.
for those who don't want "neither", i'm curious as to why...not that anything is wrong ...
"Neither" because (surprise, surprise) I don't have the same liberal beliefs that they do! Why would I vote for a person who I don't agree with? I know you were looking for a "because she's a woman" or "because he's black vote" but its neither. I feel John McCain and Mitt Romney are much better candidates for the job. They are also both a lot more experienced.
I'm sorry you didn't get the answer you were looking for.

While there is no way in hell I would want Hillary to be President, that is a horrible reason to not want her to be. You can't let them have any influence on how we do things.
Just to clarify, I didnt say it was my reason...i heard someone mention it and thought it was an interesting reason to not consider her for prez. I am not quite sure why i even responded to this post, as I typically go out of my way to stay out of any conversations that deal with politics/religion...especially on a public forum. i registered on this site to promote my work, not my political or religious views...
Serigraph, we appreciate you stepping out of your usual box of solitude to participate though... your comments and opinions may be what's needed to spark something in someone else. Something tells me that Randy likes to be the stirrer :) And sometimes that's what we need too. We often need to question our beliefs to be able to defend them...
Randy, honestly, I have a some what sketchy history of siding with RepubliCANTS due alot to my personal beliefs and religious convictions... but the last time, doggone it, look what it got us. I am far from a Democrat, trust me... I am not buying half of the crap that they are selling, and honestly was kinda rooting for Fred Thompson, not because he plays a great D.A. on Law and Order, but I thought his politics could grant US some Law and Order.
Not stirring the pot. Just thought it was important to throw out that there are more than two candidates.
Naw, it's cool :) The whole thing is the realization that Republicans nation-wide are PRAYING that the combination doesn't take place. I haven't seen a Republican yet that could beat the pair. Do you HONESTLY think that McCain has a REAL chance? I woulda put more weight in John Edwards, but now, that isn't even an option is it??
I as well was tending Edwards,we will witness history. I hope whatever happens we can see the Country back on track.
Naw, it's cool :) The whole thing is the realization that Republicans nation-wide are PRAYING ...
hahaha, first off the can't be running mates after the way they've talked about each other now. Republicans are PRAYING and combination where Clinton is on the ticket happens. It's too easy that way.
Yeah I think both McCain and Romney have real chances. Equal to or better than the Almighty Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton.
"Neither" because (surprise, surprise) I don't have the same liberal beliefs that they do! Why ...
Yeah, I'm sure you would like to think that's what i was looking for but you are wrong. I was actually hoping for a different reason than that....i dont know if i come off as someone who likes to play the race card or the feminist card, but i'm really not....i'm was actually just trying to find out your reasons for not liking them...i don't consider myself a democrat or a republican...im just a best candidate voter, so i honestly value other people's opinions....maybe it can shed new light on something for me....so if thats how you feel about it, thats cool....its a given that you don't have the same beliefs as them, but what it is you like about other candidates or what it is you dislike about them is all i was interested in....have fun though.... love life...thanx for the response.
I would like to see them both with Barack being the President and Hilary being the VP. I think they would make a good combo. Although my thoughts of this election is still undecided, I am a Democrat with some and I do mean some Conservative views....I guess you can say I'm a Conservative Liberal...or a Liberal Conservative....I know it's almost an Oxymoron but the way things are now a days I have to make better choices for me and my family and if a Rep. got good ideas and I feel they can do it then I'm voting for them and vice versa......
Funny how in a world where we demand so many choices or options for everything we are left with only 2 choices for president. Neither one's views are going to fit completely in line with so many voters views. It would be nice to have the Liberterian (and at least one more) party candidate be able to participate in debates and be recognized alongside the Dems and Reps. I wonder when that will finally happen...
Funny how in a world where we demand so many choices or options for everything ...
I think along these lines a lot.. Unfortunately it will never happen. Sure "two" is technically a choice, and even when we have 3 it seems the third is just there to "take away" votes from one of the major party.
Americans have been getting scammed for a long time.
Funny how in a world where we demand so many choices or options for everything ...
Yeah, I agree... There will NEVER be a candidate that represents our entire nation. The fact remains that there are still racists, feminists, chauvenists, cowards and all-around weirdos in the good ol' U.S. of A. (I'm not so sure that I want a real representative :)
What we have to do is not look past the faults we have as a nation, rather, confront them and find a leader that can push us THROUGH our situation. We need a person, black, white, male or female, who has a sincere vision and understands what our potential is as a country. Someone who will move us past this arrogant attitude we have been holding onto for centuries and move us into a more cooperative environment...
neither of the two are "Liberal." they are both part of the greater machine known as American Politics. Obama, however, is less an Imperial power bent on more of the same. his fresh yet naive views of what government can and should be is what this nation needed about eight years ago.
bill clinton wasnt that great of a president, and i doubt hillary would be better. that is, without stating how f'ing rad it would be for America to have a woman president.
neither of the two are "Liberal." they are both part of the greater machine known ...
I honestly believe that America is stepping away from being so "liberal" in general... you can only be free within parameters. TOO much freedom leads to chaos as someone decides that he or she should be free to persecute others who aren't like them...
