If you pick up Indy.com the magazine, you're likely familiar with the staff page, where responses to a 'question of the week' are shared.
Also on the page is a 'Reader views' column, which shows answers from locals.
Instead of going to the streets to get these answers, we'd like to try something new: get the answers from you, here on Indy.com.
If all goes well, we'll start collecting answers this way every week.
We'll choose the best answers and print them in the Indy.com The Magazine staff page.
Please have either an avatar or a photo in your profile's photo gallery that we can use to accompany your answer. Also, please keep your answer under 15 words.
This question will be for the February 7th edition of Indy.com The Magazine. Have at it:
Who is your favorite modern black historymaker?
Wesley Snipes, M.C. Hammer, and Orenthal James Simpson
Sincerely,
The I.R.S.
Our first black president, Bill Clinton.
I would say Tiger Woods, but he is Cablinasian.
I don't know how you don't go with Tony Dungy.
Eddie Murphy gets my vote.
Obama. His name is almost OSAMA and he's still popular... you gotta get points for that.
Barack Obama.
I don't know how being elected Senator is being a history maker but whatever.
Cornel West, Professor of Religion and African American Studies at Princeton University. probably the best known contemporary black american philosopher.
Bob Johnson -first black billionaire who sold BET networks to Viacom made history big time.
Our local son, Tony Dungy! For his superbowl win and his community service.
Ok, ok, far be it from me to have an unusual reply, but I gotta go with the Godfather of Soul. Mr. James HEY! Brown.
