Director Michel Gondry is starting preproduction work on a Blondie biopic. Rumors have it that Kirsten Dunst is vying for the role of the lead singer of the band. Any other actresses come to mind who should be considered? However, with Deborah Harry scheduled to perform November 24th at the Vogue, perhaps you should wait to see her live before making any casting suggestions.

I don't know but I hear that the performance of Sam Riley as Ian Curtis in "Control" the new biopic of Ian Curtis of Joy Division, is almost unnervingly accurate. Check a long trailer on youtube here:

I was listening to "Closer" on my ipod on my way back from lunch literally minutes before I read this news, by the way. Ian reaches from beyond the grave.

Actually, Samantha Morton, who plays Curtis's wife in "Control," might well make a good Blondie -- what she lacks in resemblance she can make up for with chameleon-like acting skillz.

Debbie seemed generally unhappy about being in Indianapolis when Blondie appeared at the one-and-done Indy Summer Stages festival in 2002.

That matches Kirsten Dunst's overall vibe, so it could be inspired casting for a film I'll likely skip.

What about someone like Courtney Love, if you can get her out of her heroin-induced stupor for a few weeks?

Courtney Love is too scary ... and this is a rotting corpse talking.
