Interesting...Sarah Jessica Parker to Produce Art-World "Project Runway"
What do you all think about Sarah Jessica Parker producing a Project-Runway type reality art show?
I know she is hip on fashion, but does she know good art??
I think she should recruit Julian Schnabel and Sean Young as judges for the show.
Go figure! I had no idea that SJP had her own clothing line. It's avail. only at Steve & Barry's (locally there's one in Lafayette Sq. Mall and Washington Sq. Mall) Check out the line here
Have no idea what her take on Art (with a capital A) is... jury's out on this one still.
I love the idea. I know her and Ferris Bueller have done a lot and donated lots to the arts and art programs for kids in NYC.
I think with the eccentricities and idiosynchrisies of many of the artisits I know, there would never be any lack of drama...I just hope the target audience is big enough to keep a venture like that afloat...

big fan of SJP's. I would dig this show. And any hip ladies out there should check out her line, the premise was high quality fashion that every woman could afford. Most pieces are very well made, I bought a pair of awesome $15 jeans. Seriously $15 and don't tell the boyfriend but I wear them just as much as the $175 pair... and the accessories are great too!
Here is some info from the Bitten site: What is BITTEN? BITTEN is the first-ever apparel line launched by actress and fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker, sold exclusively at Steve & Barry's stores nationwide. Sarah Jessica, along with a team of Steve & Barry's designers, created a collection of high quality, affordable sportswear for women of all ages and sizes. Every piece in the line is priced at $19.98 and less, an extraordinary value for the quality and breadth of the merchandise offered. As Sarah Jessica says, "Fashion is not a luxury, it's a right."
The formal name of the brand is "BITTEN Sarah Jessica Parker."
BITTEN marks Steve & Barry's true foray into the women's apparel market. The company has been long known as a great place to shop for men's casual clothes.
Can you describe the collection? BITTEN reflects Sarah Jessica Parker's personal sense of style and taste, with her own wardrobe serving as the inspiration for the majority of the pieces. Between the recently launched summer collection and the Fall collection to hit store shelves in August, BITTEN offers nearly 1,000 apparel and accessories pieces, including jeans, woven and knit shirts, suit separates, wool and cashmere sweaters, dresses, jackets, lingerie, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sleepwear, swimwear, bags, jewelry, belts, footwear, and much more.
The BITTEN collection was designed for women of all ages and sizes, with a full size range from XS-XXL in tops, 0-22 in bottoms, and 5-11 in shoes.
Love this show and am a devout fan. I especially like that she was doing fashion for the everyday person. Not over-the-top, unaffordable clothing. The one she ended up with was a great pick.
