This week we also have "The Eye," starring Jessica Alba, in a remake of a Japanese horror film...yes, another one.

Japanese horror films tend to have a common theme of technology somehow housing evil. In "The Ring" a videotape and a following phone call signalled your doom. In the recent "One Missed Call" warnings of death came via cell phone. "The Eye" sees Alba's character menaced after having experimental eye surgery (which is the result of a technological advance). What do you think of that as a general theme?

My question is what is your favorite J-horror remake? Which of the originals have you seen? Which of the originals have come closest to matching the quality of the original, or are there some that exceeded the original?
