So, Ellen Degeneres shed quite a few tears on her show Tuesday after Mutts & Moms, a dog shelter, refused to return Iggy the puppy to the talk show host.

Iggy was taken from Degeneres after the agency learned the celeb had given the dog away to a 12-year-old friend.

The comic, in adopting Iggy, had signed a contract that the dog would remain in her custody.

Before Degeneres cried on national television, her lawyers contacted the pet shelter, saying, "We are filing a legal case against you. We are going to be contacting the media. This is not going to be good for your store or your organization. You did not do the right thing. You need to call back. There is no reason for you to take this dog. Please call back before this gets further out of hand."

After Degeneres cried on national television, Keith Fink, a lawyer for Mutts & Moms was quotes by Page Six as saying, "Ellen's lying. She is using her power and her access to the media to destroy this agency in the media. This is a woman who has signed many seven-figure contracts. She knows what she signed."

Adding one more notch in the belt of emotional blackmail in the custody battle over Iggy was a message left on the Mutts & Moms voicemail: "You slimeball bitches are not worthy of living. How dare you make Ellen cry. Give Iggy back!"
