Set to perform Sunday during halftime of Super Bowl XLII, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are making summer plans that include a July 3 appearance at Verizon Wireless Music Center, 12880 E. 146th St.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act most recently played the Noblesville amphitheater in 2006.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday. Prices have not been announced.

In other concert news:

  • Mike Doughty's Band will perform March 19 at the Music Mill, 3720 E. 82nd St. Tickets, priced at $15, go on sale at noon Friday.

  • The California Guitar Trio will perform March 6 at the Music Mill. Tickets -- priced at $20, or $18 if purchased in advance -- go on sale at noon Friday.

Tickets for these shows will be available at the venues, at Ticketmaster locations, by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (317) 239-5151.

Great News...I didn't get to go last year and was afraid that he was retiring and that I'd never see him again. Steve Winwood is opening and I have never seen him...and we don't have to work the next day...YAY! We may still be in Deer creek parking lot trying to get home....

PS...I think all of us Indiana girls named Mary Jane should get front row seats..or at least our own section...haha

I didn't make it last year. I did the year before, in the thunderstorm with the lightning and tornado warnings... and I was pregnant to boot. I can't wait for this year it should be a blast!
