Dwight David "Doug" Douglas 93, of Fortville, passed away Jan. 24, 2008 at his home.
He was born June 4, 1914 in Martinsville, IN to the late Paul and Maude (Spicer) Douglas. Mr. Douglas was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in Belgium, France and Germany, where he entertained the troops with his mandolin and guitar music.
He was a member of Fortville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6904, Fortville Brotherhood & Sisterhood, and UAW Local 662. He retired from the former Delco-Remy plant in Anderson in 1972, after 30 years of service.
Doug is survived by children, Diana K. Alford; Steven P. (Gail) Douglas; Karen E. (Eddie) Clark; Kathy L. (David) Cooke; sister, Hazel Crawford; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise June (Lory) Douglas; twin brother, Darrell; brother, Merrill Dillender; and sister, Madge Brummett.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008 at 11 am at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. Friends may call from 2 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, Jan. 27. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
